The Summer Is Ending. The City Is About to Get Interesting.
There’s a particular moment at the end of August when New York changes.
The sidewalks get busier. Restaurants fill up. Calendars come back to life. And almost overnight, the city wakes up.
I’ve always thought September feels more like New Year’s in New York than January does. It’s a time for new beginnings—and that’s especially true in real estate.
The conversations that went quiet in July and August start again. Buyers begin looking seriously. Sellers start asking questions:
What is my apartment worth?
Where would I go next?
Is this the right time to sell?
And perhaps the most important question: What do I really want?
After years in this business, I’ve learned that the best decisions rarely come from following the crowd. They come from clarity, preparation and having a strategy before making the first move.
Because opportunity doesn’t always announce itself.
Sometimes it arrives quietly—a conversation over coffee, a property that hasn’t quite hit the market, a seller who is finally ready, or a buyer who realizes that waiting for the perfect market may mean waiting forever.
New York rewards people who are prepared.
So as summer winds down, I’m not thinking about summer being over. I’m thinking about what’s coming next.
